Action Requests

Action Requests are a feature that requires a user to receive workflow approval before they are granted access to a requested action or function in the software. A submitted action request is processed by a workflow form that defines the approval process, which could be automatic or require interactive approval through one or more authorizers.

Action Requests are a combination of two objects; Workflow Selectors and Workflow Forms. A Workflow Selector is the configuration that enables the requirement for workflow approval and the Workflow Form is the configuration that defines how the approval is processed.

The Action Requests report lists all action requests that have been submitted in a site. This will include metadata about each including, but not limited to, current status, requested, time range and more.

A user that is enabled by a Request Selector and therefore has to submit a workflow approval request to gain access to an action, is the "Requester". Requesters can monitor their requests or delete their active requests from their My Requests page located at My Profile > My Requests.

A user that is defined in a Request Form and therefore receives submitted requests and either approve or reject the requests, is an "Authorizer". Authorizer can review and take action on requests from their Approver List page located at My Profile > Approver List.
