Workflows

A workflow represents a structured sequence of automated or user-driven steps designed to accomplish a specific operational or administrative task. In the context of system orchestration or service management, workflows define how actions are executed, in what order, and under what conditions, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.

Each workflow can involve a combination of triggers, approval gates, task execution rules, and decision logic. These workflows are often used to enforce policies, streamline processes like account provisioning, credential rotation, or incident response, and reduce the need for manual intervention.

Workflows can be associated with specific asset types or user roles and are typically reusable across multiple use cases. They help ensure that business and security processes are followed accurately, auditable logs are generated, and responses are consistent across teams and systems.
