In the context of credential rotation, jobs automate the process of resetting, verifying, or validating privileged account credentials using secure protocols and customizable scripts. For microsegmentation, jobs are responsible for enforcing and updating host-level firewall rules, ensuring segmentation policies are consistently applied across distributed systems.

Each job is defined by a set of parameters including the target asset, associated script, execution method (scheduled, triggered, or interactive), and security context. Jobs can be centrally managed, monitored, and audited to ensure transparency, compliance, and operational integrity.
