AI Prompts

AI-Powered Insights relies on the use of system-defined and user-defined prompts to guide how artificial intelligence processes and analyzes report data. Prompts provide the instructions that determine both the behavior of the AI model and the specific analysis or output to be generated from the submitted dataset.

Each prompt is composed of two distinct components: a System Prompt and a User Prompt. The System Prompt defines the operational parameters for the AI, including behavior, response format, rules, and constraints. The User Prompt specifies the analytical task to be performed, such as summarization, trend identification, or risk analysis, based on the provided data.

12Port includes a set of predefined prompts optimized for supported report types, including Events and Session Events reports. These default prompts may be used without modification or they may be customized through the AI > Prompts page to better align with organizational requirements.

In addition to modifying existing prompts, administrators can create custom prompts by selecting Add on the AI > Prompts page and defining their own System and User prompt content.

Tip

When creating custom prompts, explicitly instruct the AI to format its output using valid GitHub-flavored Markdown. Output in other formats may not render correctly in the Insights Report response field.
