How to Use AI-Powered Insights

Using AI-Powered Insights involves submitting a selected report dataset to an AI service along with a predefined prompt for analysis and summarization. Supported datasets include reports such as the Events Report, where recorded event data is evaluated by the configured AI provider to generate an analytical output.

When an AI request is initiated, 12Port securely submits the selected report data and prompt to the chosen AI integration. Each submission creates a corresponding Cloud AI Query Insight record, which tracks the processing status of the request. Processing time may vary based on the volume of data submitted and the response time of the AI provider.

Upon successful completion of the request, the AI-generated response is stored and presented within the AI Insights reporting interface. Users can monitor request status, refresh results as needed, and return to completed insight records through the AI Insights section of the application for review and auditing purposes.

  1. Establish and enable an AI Integration to your AI Cloud Provider.

  2. From a Report, filter the data as required (for example, Time: Last Week) and click the Ask AI button. Events Report - Ask AI Button Note: At least one enabled AI Integration and at least one enabled AI Prompt is required to perform an Ask AI operation.

  3. Select your Integrated AI Provider and the Prompt to submit to AI. Ask AI - Select Provider and Prompt popup

  4. Click Ask AI to submit the prompt and report data to AI.

  5. Once submitted, you will be redirected to the Cloud AI Query Insight report for this submission. Ask AI - Cloud AI Query Insight Report

  6. Use the Refresh button along the bottom of the page to refresh the status of the submitted prompt. Prompts may take up to 60 seconds or longer to process, depending on the amount of data included. You may leave this page and return to it using the AI > Insights page.

  7. Once the prompt has been processed (status Success), the AI response will be displayed at the bottom of the page in the Response parameter. Cloud AI Query Insight Report - Success and Response

If the processing fails (status Error), the error message will be displayed in the Message field at the bottom of the page.
