Network Flow Architecture in 12Port

12Port supports several core deployment models for network traffic flow including single node and peer node configurations. Understanding these models is essential for designing and operating reliable remote access and automation workflows.

In a Single Node Network Flow, all traffic, whether initiated by users, scripts, or automation, passes directly through a standalone 12Port server.

In a Peer Node Network Flow, traffic to remote endpoints inaccessible from the main node is transparently routed through a peer node deployed in an isolated environment, while the main node continues to handle all user and API interactions.

Each model supports both interactive access (via browser or native clients) and automated job execution, with protocol-specific handling to ensure secure and efficient communication.
