Tags

A tag serves as a descriptive label or keyword assigned to an asset to aid in its identification, organization, and policy assignment. Tags are used extensively in the 12Port platform to enhance searchability and categorization of assets.

When an asset is tagged with a term from the taxonomy, it typically involves assigning one or more labels that succinctly describe its attributes or logical grouping with other assets. For instance, tags might include labels like "Windows," "Web Server," or "Production," allowing for these similar assets to be grouped.

Tags can have many text labels, called synonyms, and even labels in different languages to support multilingual deployments.
