Monitoring Requests

A Requester can monitor or check on the current state of their requests to determine if it has been Approved, Rejected or is still Active (pending) approval.

They can monitor there requests from two locations; from the object where the request was originally submitted or from their personal My Requests page.

Monitor from Asset

When an Action Request is submitted from an asset directly like Asset Manage or Asset Unlock, you can check the status of your request from this same asset.

1. Navigate to the asset where the request was submitted.

2. Attempt to perform the same action that was included in the request. Note that the message for this action now reads "Waiting for Approval" or "Requested" indicating your request is still active.

3. This will open a View Request page that will provide details about your Active request including information about the request itself and what Level is currently pending a response.

Monitor from My Requests

Alternatively, you can also check the status of all your Active requests from your My Requests page located at My Profile > My Requests. This page details not only your Active requests, but all your previous requests as well, including Approved, Rejected and Completed.

A status of Active indicates it is still in the approval process.

Additionally, you can Show Details or View the request details or use the Actions > Delete option to Complete (terminate) any of your Active requests before they are Approved, Rejected or Completed.

Approved Requests

After the request has been approved, you will see the Status displayed as Approved for this request on your My Requests page. Once it reaches the approved state, you will have access to this requested action until it advances to the Completed state.

Completed requests are no longer usable and if additional time is required, the requester must submit a new request form and await approval to continue.

From an asset where the action was requested, the visual indicators will update depending on the current state of the pending. As an example, if the action Manage (action: Asset Manage) is configured with a Request Selector, the following states will be visible from the asset.

The above illustrates that access to the action Manage (Edit) requires approval; "Request Access". Please note that if a request is rejected, the action will return to this state.

The above illustrates that access to the action Manage (Edit) has been approved and the Edit action is now available to the requester until the request is completed.
