Application Licensing
Each 12Port Horizon tenant must be licensed before its 7-day grace period ends. To activate the license for a tenant, follow the steps outlined below, which are tailored to your specific 12Port instance and its internet connectivity. Only one activation method is needed - there is no need to perform both.
To communicate with the 12Port license server be sure that the host performing the activation can access the server address license.12port.com using https over port 443. Please make any firewall adjustments necessary to ensure this connection can be made.
Note
The 12Port /base
tenant does not require license activation.
Server-Side Activation
If your 12Port host server has an active connection to the internet, then you can use this method to active your tenant(s). To activate a license using this Server-Side Activation method, follow these steps:
- Log in to your tenant's
/root
space with an Administrator or Configuration Manager account. - Navigate to Configuration > License.
- Copy and Paste your supplied license key into the Activation Code field.
- Click the Server-Side Activate button.
- After a few seconds, the license should successfully activate, the License field will populate with licensing details, and the Status field will update to Valid.
Note
A successful activation message indicates that 12Port was able to successfully communicate with the license server; however, it does not guarantee that the activation code itself is valid. The code is only valid if the Status field displays Valid.
This tenant's license is now activated and the same procedure may be performed on other tenants as required.
External Activation
If your 12Port host server does not have an active internet connection, then you must use this method to activate your tenant(s). To activate a license using this External Activation method, follow these steps:
- Log in to your tenant's
/root
space with an Administrator or Configuration Manager account. - Navigate to Configuration > License.
- Copy and Paste your supplied license key into the Activation Code field.
- Click the External Activate button.
- A new browser tab will open that attempts to load a manual activation URL. Copy this full URL from this browser and paste it into another web browser that has an active internet connection.
- From this other browser with the active internet connection, load this manual activation page and copy the entire license text that is returned.
- Return to the tenant license page and paste this entire license text into the License field.
- Click the Save button.
- After a few seconds, the license should successfully activate and the Status field should update to Valid.
Note
A successful activation message indicates that 12Port was able to successfully communicate with the license server; however, it does not guarantee that the activation code itself is valid. The code is only valid if the Status field displays Valid.
This tenant's license is now activated and the same procedure may be performed on other tenants as required.
